In a world of rushed mornings and grab-and-go breakfasts, it’s refreshing to find a place where the food is made with care and where you’re always greeted with a smile. That’s exactly what you’ll experience at Vera’s Kitchen, a locally owned restaurant nestled at 1951 Dickerson Boulevard, Suite A, in Monroe, North Carolina.

Vera's Kitchen

Vera’s Kitchen isn’t just a restaurant. It’s the realization of a lifelong dream for Luis and Guadalupe (Lupita) Vera, an immigrant couple who came to the U.S. with a vision to one day open their own restaurant. Luis has been a chef for more than 30 years, and after decades of experience, the couple brought their dream to life, first in Waxhaw and now in the heart of Union County.

“We’re a family business living our American dream,” Lupita says. “We just want to give people good food, good service, and good prices.”

A Menu That Honors Two Cultures

What makes Vera’s Kitchen special? It’s their thoughtfully crafted menu blending American and Mexican breakfast and lunch favorites. Locals can find everything from fluffy pancakes, scrambled eggs, and grits to authentic Mexican dishes like chilaquiles, huevos rancheros, and the ever-popular Choriquezo omelet made with Mexican sausage and mozzarella cheese.

Rooted in Community

Luis and Lupita chose Union County intentionally. They saw a need in Waxhaw for more breakfast and lunch options and opened their first location there. The warm welcome from the community, combined with and the hunger for a place that felt like home, led them to expand into Monroe.Interior of Vera's Kitchen
