  • There is no general business license in North Carolina. However, when people ask about Business Licenses, there is an “it depends.”  There are some industries that require an occupational certificate or licensing. Also, there are 14 municipalities in Union County who each have their own rules, so the business owner will want to check the regulations in the municipality their business is located. Finally, business owners will also want to check out the Zoning permits for the location of their business.

In general, the chamber encourages everyone to shop local, which often highlights small business owners. Additionally, all chamber members have access to an online directory listing that has been shown to improve SEO for our members. Several of our membership packages include additional marketing features such as an ad on the chamber’s website and a member spotlight blog. Members can choose the package that best fits their needs as well as sponsorship and advertising opportunities throughout the year.
