If you’re looking for a professional development experience that connects learning with real-world impact, Leadership Union offers a meaningful next step. You’ll move beyond conferences and workshops to see how leadership decisions shape your organization and the wider community.
Leadership Union is designed to help you expand your perspective, build valuable relationships, and put your leadership skills into action.
Over 10 months, you’ll participate in immersive experiences, engage with community decision-makers, and explore the real opportunities and challenges facing our region. Along the way, you’ll develop regional knowledge, meaningful connections, and greater confidence to lead within your organization and across the community.
What is Leadership Union?
The program moves beyond the classroom and into the community, giving you opportunities to:
- • Understand the economic, civic and social forces shaping Union County
- • Engage with community, business and civic leaders
- • Explore complex issues from multiple perspectives
- • Strengthen your ability to make informed decisions in complex environments
- • Identify opportunities to contribute your skills, experience and influence
- • Develop a broader perspective that benefits both your organization and the region
The goal isn’t simply to help you become a better leader. It’s to help you put your leadership to work.
You’ll meet one day each month from January through June and August through November, including a one-day retreat. Each session provides direct access to the people, institutions, and industries that shape Union County.

2027 Leadership Union Applications Open
What are we looking for in a Leadership Union participant?
- Individuals with a sincere commitment, motivation and interest to serve in the community
- Individuals intending to seek public office, boards, commissions, or key volunteer leadership roles
- Individuals with potential or existing opportunities for advancement to top leadership positions within their own organization, which may in turn play a significant role in the community
- Individuals committed to their personal and career development
- Individuals working in Union County and who are members of the Union County Chamber of Commerce
