At Lifes Good Stay Here, we believe everyone deserves the opportunity to experience purpose, independence, belonging, and pride in who they are. Founded in 2022, our nonprofit was created with a vision to help individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities (IDD) live fulfilling lives while remaining connected to their identity, families, and communities.
Our organization was created in response to a need for greater support beyond traditional residential care. We recognized gaps in services for individuals with IDD, particularly in independent living, self-advocacy, personal development, and access to supportive housing. Our goal is to create environments where individuals are not simply cared for, but encouraged to participate, make choices, develop their strengths, and have a voice in their own lives.
LGSH focuses on creating opportunities for personal growth, independence, life-skills development, and confidence. We strive to provide a family-centered atmosphere where individuals feel respected, valued, and empowered to reach their potential. Through supportive housing, skill development, and community involvement, we help individuals build lives that reflect who they are and what matters to them.
Our work extends beyond the people we directly serve. We believe strong communities are built through connection and involvement so we organize events and activities that bring individuals with IDD, their families, and community members together in welcoming, inclusive environments. These events create opportunities for socialization, recreation, connection, and shared experiences.
We are also passionate about giving back to the communities we call home. Through neighborhood clean-up initiatives, community service projects, and donation drives, we encourage residents, volunteers, businesses, and community partners to work together to make a positive difference. As we grow, we hope to expand these efforts and create larger-scale community outreach initiatives that extend beyond our local neighborhoods.
At Lifes Good Stay Here, our name reflects what we hope every person we serve can experience: life can be good, and everyone deserves a place where they feel safe, valued, supported, and at home. Having a disability should never limit someone’s ability to experience independence, belonging, purpose, and fulfillment.
Celebrating Abilities in Autumn
One event we are excited about is our Abilities in Autumn Fall Bash, taking place on October 17, 2026.
This year is especially meaningful because it marks our second Abilities in Autumn Bash and a new tradition for LGSH. We have officially made Abilities in Autumn an annual event! We are excited to continue growing this special gathering and hope it becomes something our community looks forward to year after year.
The Fall Bash is an opportunity to celebrate ALL abilities, bring people together, and create a space where everyone can enjoy themselves and feel part of something special.
As we prepare for this year’s celebration, we are looking for local businesses, organizations, and community members interested in partnering through sponsorships and donations. Contributions, whether monetary, in-kind, event supplies, or other support, will help us create an exciting and memorable experience for all who attend.
