In fast-growing communities like Union County, families move in, move out, renovate, clean out. Businesses expand, and construction projects move fast. Behind all of that progress is a practical need most people never think about until they need it immediately: reliable waste and dumpster service.
More than twenty years ago, the Laney family decided to fill that gap by opening Trash Control, a full-service waste management company serving homes, businesses, and contractors across the region.
“We saw the need for dumpster services in Union County,” said Evie Laney. “Todd and Chad grew up here, and supporting Union County has always been important to our family.”
Growing with the Community
Founded in 2005 by Todd and Chad Laney, the company began with roll-off dumpsters for construction sites. At the time, Union County was rapidly developing, and contractors needed dependable partners who could keep projects moving.

As the county continued to grow, so did the needs of the community. In 2015, the company added front-load dumpster service for restaurants, businesses, and commercial properties. Then in 2019, they launched residential trash service after many neighborhoods and rural areas throughout the county still didn’t have access to dependable residential pickup.
Today, the company offers roll-off dumpsters, front-load dumpsters, compactors, industrial service dumpsters, and residential trash service across Union County and surrounding communities.
For many customers, their first interaction comes during a stressful season of life, such as a major home cleanout, a move, a renovation, or even the loss of a loved one.
“We do a lot of home cleanups,” Evie explained. “If someone is doing spring cleaning or moving, we offer a one-time flat-rate service that makes it simple.”
The Difference is the People
And while dumpsters and trash collection may seem like a straightforward business, the Laneys believe the real difference is the people behind it.
“Our ideal client is someone who sees the value in great customer service and quick response,” Evie said.
That focus on service shows up in the small moments customers remember. From drivers who explain equipment clearly to employees who take the time to ensure customers feel cared for, the company has built its reputation on responsiveness and relationships.
“Our employees set Trash Control apart from other companies,” Evie said. “We’re big supporters of our employees as well. We want them to feel loved and feel like they’re part of our family.”

Family-First Mindset
That family-first mindset runs deep. Todd and Chad’s father, Ronnie Laney, was a custom home builder who spent decades helping shape Union County. The next generation followed in those footsteps by building a business here and investing back into the community that raised them.
“Todd and Chad went to Parkwood. Their kids grew up here too,” Evie said. “We’ve been part of Union County our whole lives.”
